Based on performance during the course, some participants will be offered a paid internship (minimum 20 hrs/wk) in Belgrade, Nicosia or Vilnius.

The Visual Effects (VFX) course is for those interested in learning the basics of creating effects for video games, such as smoke, fire, explosions, and destruction, as well as preparing static and animated textures, effects based on 3D meshes, and smoke simulations for them.
You’ll gain lots of valuable knowledge and have the chance to be part of a team of like-minded people who are experienced visual effects artists. Then, under the guidance of your mentors, you’ll put together your own VFX portfolio using the approaches employed at Wargaming.

What will you do?

  • Learn about the creation of game effects and create smoke and fire effects from scratch using Unreal Engine 
  • Learn to create material for effects and simulate animated textures 
  • Learn to use different shader features to control effects and create effects based on 3D models 
  • Create a visual effects portfolio with the skills of a beginner VFX artist that will allow you to successfully start a career in the game development industry 
  • You will also acquire public speaking skills, learn how to create a compelling presentation and prepare for public speaking with confidence. 

What are we looking for?

  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop (ability to collage images, and work with layers) 
  • Ability to model in one 3D package (Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, etc.) 
  • Up-to-date portfolio (3D/2D illustrations, screenshots of game prototypes, interface samples, animations, ads) 
  • Possessing an artistic eye and understanding of basic artistic principles 
  • English proficiency (preferably B2 or above)

What will help you stand out?

  • Basic knowledge of Unreal Engine 
  • Knowledge of Wargaming products
