Wargaming has launched a paid internship program for enthusiastic, skilled individuals who are eager to gain first-hand work experience as well as an opportunity to investigate unique problems and design data-driven solutions. What makes this internship even more special is the fact that successful applicants will have a chance to leave their mark on the game. Their choices will be felt by millions of players.
Those who are selected to be Data Science interns will be able to hone their skills and learn cutting-edge techniques. From improving programming skills in Python and SQL to developing models for deployment to gain insight into the games and player behavior, every day will be filled with something new and exciting.
As interns tackle challenging business problems, they’ll be under the guidance of several current team leaders, engineers, and scientists of the Data Science team. Each one is an expert in what they do, whether it’s creating machine learning models and developing neural networks to data mining, visualization, and natural language processing.
The Data Science team helps all Wargaming games by providing data-driven insights and solutions. Among the areas they cover, they analyze the player’s lifecycle, assess the impact of new game features, and design algorithms for bots. And that’s not all! For the full list of responsibilities, check out the application to the internship program.
Strong applicants should possess strong motivation, as well as basic knowledge of math and the ability to program in Python or R. If they have experience playing World of Tanks or some knowledge of Russian, it’s an advantage, but not essential.
